Overview

This article will guide you through the process of deploying the Windows Agent on Windows 7. It provides you with the steps, parameters and guidelines required for a successful Footprint Agent installation.

Deployment Procedure

Footprint no longer provides updates for Windows Agents on endpoints with a Windows OS older than Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 R2, hence, it is necessary, in order to install the Windows Agent on such devices, to first:

1.  download the Windows Agent version 6.2.0 (the latest version compatible with Windows 7) and proceed with the installation as described in this article:

   • MSI Installer

   • EXE Installer

2. Disable the update service for the Windows Agent on the device:

   • Open the Services application and Right-click on the Footprint Agent Updater Service to access its properties
     

     

   • Then click the drop-down menu for the Startup type field and Disable the service
